It certainly was! When the lovely Kurt from MVMNT asked us to create art live at the Carlton Club we couldn’t resist.
Creating Twisties from scratch is an extremely delicate process. It takes a lot of time and love, but the results are truly worth it.
It’s just a shame they aren’t actually edible. After a few drinks I think the Twisties were looking a bit too tasty for some of the audience members to resist. Even those who witnessed us spraying foam out of aerosol cans, into Twistie like shapes, and covering them with pastel dust were pretty intrigued. And a few definitely went missing from the display.
Later in the night we customized this cute cardboard Christmas tree from Tree Creds, which contained half a tonne of forest saving carbon offsets, and was auctioned off to help offset the event.
Thanks to everyone who came down. We had a ball!
I’m off to South America for seven weeks. Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Chile here I come. It’s been a big year and I’m definitely looking forward to some Pisco Sours, Samba and practicing my Spanish. No doubt Georgina will keep you posted on what she sees around Melbourne, and I might even share some contemporary art from my trip. Hope you all have a great Christmas and New Years.
